MeetingMaker Terms of Service
Last Revised September 9, 2026
MeetingMaker was built by people in recovery, for people in recovery. These Terms of Service (“Terms”) explain what you agree to when using the app. When you use MeetingMaker, you acknowledge that you agree to any terms, conditions, consents and disclosures contained in the Privacy Policy and related services and materials. If a court, probation/parole, treatment or other provider requires you to use MeetingMaker, your use is also subject to their agreement with us, which takes precedence if the two ever conflict.
1. Who can use MeetingMaker.
You must be 13 or older to use MeetingMaker. If you are under 13, do not use the app or provide any information about yourself to us. If we learn that we have received personal information from a child under 13 without verification or parental consent, we will delete that information. MeetingMaker is not responsible for any unintended use or violations arising from any user’s deliberate misrepresentation of their personal information.
2. Your account.
You are responsible to keep your account information accurate and your login secure. You are legally responsible for what happens under your account. Email support@meetingmaker.io immediately if you think someone else has access to your account, or you believe it is otherwise compromised.
3. Subscriptions and billing.
Some features require a paid subscription. Subscriptions bill automatically in advance and renew at the end of each period unless you cancel. Fees already paid are non-refundable, except where required by law or explicitly stated in writing. If a payment fails, your access may pause until resolved by your app provider. We may change subscription pricing with advance notice; continuing to use MeetingMaker after a price change takes effect means you accept the new price. If we offer a free trial, it converts to a paid subscription automatically unless you cancel before the trial ends.
4. What MeetingMaker is (and isn’t).
MeetingMaker verifies attendance using your phone’s GPS. MeetingMaker is a verification tool. We’re not responsible for probation or parole revocations, sanctions, arrests, or incarceration resulting from missed check-ins, GPS errors, or outages. Complying with your court order or supervision terms is between you and your supervising agency.
5. Using MeetingMaker responsibly.
You agree not to:
-
- Fake, spoof, or manipulate your location or attendance data.
- Impersonate someone else or misrepresent who you’re affiliated with.
- Use the app to break the law or violate your supervision terms.
- Hack, scrape, or try to reverse-engineer MeetingMaker.
6. Purchases and outside links.
MeetingMaker may recommend trusted third-party resources, materials, or applications (such as mindfulness, meditation, or wellness tools) to support individual recovery, including offering in-app purchases. Our Privacy Policy covers what we collect in those cases. We don’t control those third parties and aren’t responsible for them.
7. Your content.
Anything you enter into MeetingMaker is still yours. By accepting these terms, you are giving permission to use and store it so we can run the app and share it with the contacts you choose, as described in our Privacy Policy.
8. Canceling your account.
We can suspend or close accounts that violate these Terms or misuse the app, and reserve the right to terminate any user’s account at any time, for any reason, and incur no liability for the termination. You can delete your account in the app, or request deletion at support@meetingmaker.io. Our Privacy Policy, Section 5, covers data handling when cancelling or suspending your account.
9. “As is” and “as available” disclaimer.
MeetingMaker is provided as-is, with no warranties of any kind — express or implied — including that it’s merchantable, fit for a particular purpose, meets your specific needs, works without interruption, or is free of errors, bugs, or harmful code. This includes services provided by third-party vendors we rely on to operate MeetingMaker, such as hosting, cloud storage, and payment processing. We don’t promise it will always work perfectly, be error-free, or never go down.
10. Limits on our liability.
To the extent the law allows, we’re not liable for indirect or consequential damages from using MeetingMaker. Our total liability is capped at $100 or what you paid us in the past year, whichever is greater. Some jurisdictions don’t allow limits like this, so it may not fully apply to you – but where it doesn’t, this section will be applied as much as the law allows.
11. Liability for misuse and third-party claims.
If your violation of these Terms or misuse of the app causes MeetingMaker legal or financial harm, or leads to any third-party legal claims, you agree to defend us and cover all resulting legal fees, damages and settlement costs.
12. Resolving disputes.
These Terms are governed by Michigan law. Before filing a claim, we both agree to try to resolve the issue informally. If unresolved, either of us can bring a claim in small claims court, or the dispute will be settled through binding arbitration in Grand Traverse County, Michigan. Class actions are prohibited, and any claim must be filed within one year of when it arose.
13. Force Majeure.
We’re not responsible for delays or outages caused by events outside our control, like natural disasters, war, or internet and power failures.
14. Electronic Communications.
By using MeetingMaker, you agree we can send you notices and legal disclosures electronically — by email or in the app — instead of on paper.
15. General.
If part of these Terms turns out to be unenforceable, the rest still applies. You can’t transfer your rights under these Terms without our consent; we can, if MeetingMaker is acquired or restructured. These Terms and our Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between us, except where a separate agreement with a court, agency, or provider applies, as described above.
16. Changes to These Terms.
We’ll update the date above when these Terms change, and let you know about anything material. Continuing to use MeetingMaker after a change means you accept it.
17. Contact Us.
If you have any questions about these Terms and Conditions, please contact us.
